The New Caboose
The new caboose at the Museum of the Plains has made it possible for the museum to fulfill a thirty year dream of putting a train with our depot. The caboose was restored by Progressive Rail Services. About fifteen workers worked several hundred hours which included research to make the caboose as close to the original as possible. The caboose was delivered to Perryton by Panhandle Steel Erectors who also put the train on the tracks. The fulfillment of this of this dream was made possible by the monetary donations from a few special people and the physical efforts of many.
